As 2024 comes to a close and the new year starts we at True Aim Activities are thrilled to reflect on what has been an incredible first year at Fonmon Castle. From the moment we opened our doors in February, it has been a journey filled with growth, achievements, and unforgettable memories.
We began the year with our popular “Have a Go” sessions in the medieval village, introducing visitors to archery and axe throwing. These activities quickly became a hit, drawing in guests eager to try their hand at something new. Shortly after, we expanded our offerings with the creation of a 7-target course nestled in the beautiful woodland for our Forest Archery sessions. This addition provided a unique and immersive experience for archery enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of the year was the bespoke packages we created, catering to corporate days and birthday parties. It was a pleasure hosting these special events and seeing the joy they brought to our guests. We also took great pride in designing tailored experiences for other forest schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. It was wonderful to welcome them to Fonmon Castle and share the magic of the outdoors.
On a personal note, I achieved my Forest School Level 3 Practitioner certification this year, a milestone that allowed me to launch our very own Forest School. Running these sessions on Friday mornings has been incredibly rewarding, providing children and young adults with a safe and inspiring space to connect with nature.
The summer holidays were a whirlwind of fun as we welcomed families and visitors to enjoy our activities, and the medieval village came alive once again during our themed events for Halloween and Christmas. The festive spirit was truly magical, making these events a highlight of the year.
We were honored to be nominated for the Vale Awards and were absolutely delighted to achieve the Highly Recommended recognition. This acknowledgment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Although we didn’t quite achieve our volunteer programme this year, we are excited to announce that it will officially start on the 17th of January. We look forward to building a passionate and supportive team of volunteers who will help us grow and enhance our activities in the year ahead.
As we look forward to 2025, we are filled with excitement for the opportunities and adventures that lie ahead. We have big plans to introduce new activities and continue to provide unforgettable experiences at Fonmon Castle.
